In 1946, when the Neighbors family founded Alex City Provision, they founded as well the traditions of quality and service that continue today.

The food distribution business has undergone a lot of change in the three generations since the Neighbors family founded the company. What began as a wholesale meat operation is now a full line food service distribution company serving the institutional and food service markets with fresh, frozen and dry products. Each change in our business, including a name change, has resulted in a period of rapid growth. In keeping pace, Alabama Food Group has increased the work force, expanded the warehouse space and  introduced computers into every aspect of the operation.
